OUR HISTORY
George Rennie & Co. started in 1911 when George Rennie opened the agency on March 10th at 49 Princess Avenue.
In 1914, George Rennie (then Mayor of Benoni) left to join the war effort in South West Africa, and his office boy, Morrie Nestadt, took over to run the business.
When George returned, he found a profitable and well-run business. He immediately made Morrie a junior partner.
Morrie Nestadt would go on to be the Mayor of Benoni, making him the 2nd employee to become Mayor of Benoni.
In the first sale Morrie ever did, he climbed up an electrical pole to get the final signature from the seller. This would set the tone for George Rennie & Co. going forward. Going the extra mile, serving our clients, making sure that the work gets done!
We have over 100 years in dealing with the property industry and it is estimated that we have had a hand in over 80% of what you see in Benoni today!
